Nominated for “Band of the Year” in the upcoming 2008 Blues Music Awards  and one of the most exciting blues acts to emerge in the last few years, The Mannish Boys is a flexible cooperative whose lineup constantly revolves and which is made up of some of the finest blues artists on the West Coast scene today.  The Mannish Boys have released three widely acclaimed CDs on Delta Groove, “That Represent Man” in 2004 which received 2 nominations for Album of the Year and Traditional Blues Album of the Year, “Live & In Demand” in 2005, and “Big Plans” in 2007.  Due to be released in June of this year is album number four, “Lowdown Feelin’.”  The current Mannish Boys lineup features Finis Tasby, a great journeyman blues singer whose career stretches back to the ‘60’s; Bobby Jones, a powerful, vibrant blues singer; “Kid” Ramos, an exciting, compelling blues guitarist; Kirk “Eli” Fletcher whose guitar work resonates with soulful intensity; Ronnie James Webber, one of the most respected and in-demand blues bassists in the country; Richard Innes, originator and finest practitioner of the modern West Coast drumming style and Randy Chortkoff, mastermind behind The Mannish Boys, harp player, occasional emcee, and producer of all the band’s recordings.  Blues Revue Magazine says of The Mannish Boys, “…no finer collection of blues talent exists today in one band.”
