Tommy Castro

 San Francisco, California

Tommy Castro and his brilliant band have captured legions of fans around the world with their mesmerizing blend of rock, blues, and Memphis soul.  From performing at a tiny San Francisco saloon 17 years ago, to opening over 80 concert dates for B.B. King’s 2001 and 2002 tours,  to his latest award, BluesWax Album of the Year 2007 for “Painkiller,” his latest release from Blind Pig Records, Castro’s popularity is soaring. Castro won the Blues Music Award in 2008 for the Contemporary Blues Album of the Year, “Painkiller” and also won the BMA for being named the  B.B. King Entertainer of the Year. Billboard calls him “a major blues player,” Blueswax says “the Tommy Castro Band is one of the best bands on tour today” and Vintage Guitar adds “Tommy Castro’s pure Fender tone, whiskey-and-cigarette voice, and knack for writing a good tune are about as good as it gets.”
